We'll be adding information on locations around the country that have a big dub-love welcome mat out for people with Campervans; and/or pets.
If you are the owner of a campsite that caters for VW campers and you would like to advertise on our website then please email me at: yorkclassicvws@live.co.uk - we are doing some great low cost advertising at the moment. As the owner of a campsite you may be aware that it can be hard for your customers to find campsites that are campervan friendly, we aim for this website to be a one stop shop for VW enthusiasts so they know where to come when looking for anything VW related.
If you have been to a campsite that you would recommend please let us know so we can pass on your recommendations to our readers, thanks. Email me at yorkclassicvws@live.co.uk
Well, we're doing some research into the legalities of camping wild in the UK versus stopping overnight here and there in a VW Campervan...for now, here are a few tips. ~For instance, many cross-country main roads have truck stops in the way of a Truck stop where long haul truckers stop overnight. These areas are almost always free as some of them are no more than a dirt area to the side of a Petrol Station. Safety is important, so these areas are generally good as you will almost always find at least one Truck parked there - but be mindful of keeping out of the trucks turning area. You can also do some research with a good road map to find Road Laybys in which to park your volkswagen Campervan. Look around for lakes or mountain areas along your travel route. Some supermarkets will alow vehicles to park overnight so use phone around for permission.

In the UK alot of the landscape is taken up by Farms and Pastures and you may end up with the feeling that you are about to spend alot of your time on your camping trip on someone's private property. But there's a bright side. Rights of public access are very important in the UK. Generally speaking, if someone has a trail on their property, right-of-way laws require them to keep it open to the public. Signs posted will usually tell you how much access you can have.
